TSD Company History
In 1994 American Metal Fabrication rented a Building on 1st Street, in Ponca City behind the old Ace Hardware store and set up shop working for The Conoco Refinery.
Later in 1994 we built the building in Ponca City, which we now occupy. In the years following, we have had two expansions that have tripled our square footage and workspace to accommodate the increased workload.
We started the process to patent the duct work which is now called Thermal Seal Duct in late 2004-early 2005. We worked under a provisional patent until April of 2010. While manufacturing the duct under our Provisional Patent, companies in the food processing arena, such as Nestle, Hormel, General Mills and ConAgra foods realized our product provided them with ductwork that was impervious to any outside air, virtually eliminating condensation, which allows microorganisms and bacteria into the systems’ airflow.
There are three distinct types of ducts that we offer – Star 2, Star 3, and Star 4. Each are double-wall foam-insulated Stainless Steel inside duct with either a galvanized outside skin, or Stainless-Steel skin for duct located inside the food processing area. Our Duct can either be manufactured in round or square dimensions.
Since 2005, our sales have doubled every year and our customer base has increased year after year, to the point where another expansion was necessary.
In March of 2011, we purchased property at 27 Superior Drive in Rome, Georgia and currently employ twenty-one people. Our Ponca City office currently employs twenty-four. Our Ponca City office will fabricate everything West of the Mississippi and our Rome office will fabricate everything East of the Mississippi. With both offices helping each other when needed.
Once again in 2024 we had the need to expand to keep up with demand. January of 2025, we completed and opened our new facility in Neosho, Missouri. High demand for our duct system was overwhelming the current locations, so we decided to move our diffuser manufacturing to Missouri. With the added location it allows the Oklahoma and Georgia locations to concentrate on strictly duct. Our location in Neosho contains all the same state-of-the-art equipment as our other locations and can supplement duct fabrication when needed.
Thermal Seal Duct is now solely a duct and diffuser manufacturer and does not do any installations, however we do collaborate with several contracting companies who have installed our duct systems and continue to service our customers. We ensure all our duct is installed correctly and to our standards. Our duct is inspected by one of our quality control inspectors. Inspections will be completed using our inspection robots and drones to verify that our standards are met to receive our limited lifetime warranty.
